Restaurant Staff Roles and Permissions: Who Does What?
Most billing problems are not caused by bad software but by too much access. Giving each person only the access they need protects your money and your staff.
Waiters
Take orders and send them to the kitchen. They usually should not print bills or see reports.
Cashiers and POS operators
Take payment and print bills. A POS operator role can be limited to seeing and printing only their own bills.
Managers
Approve voids, discounts and refunds; see reports; manage stock and staff.
Owners and head office
See everything across branches, including profit and accounting. Keep this group small.
Keep an audit trail
Whatever the permissions, an audit log of who changed what makes problems easy to trace and discourages misuse.
